- What is the purpose of this system?
The EMTRACK system is designed to integrate various telematics devices and manage them from one place. Its overall functionality spans three areas: it provides insights into what has occurred, shows the current situation, and notifies about events that will happen in the future.
The core feature of this system is the ability to locate any mobile object on the map and read its current measurement parameters. Then, the user can review stored historical measurements and visualize them on the map. Another top priority is the instant signaling of selected events via the app, e-mail, or SMS. - How does it work?
To locate an object and track its measurements, a device called a GPS locator is needed. It has an integrated GPS module that reads its position and a GSM module that communicates with the EMTRACK platform servers. Depending on the type of locator, it can be combined with other peripherals such as temperature sensors, onboard computers, driver authorization tools, etc. Data and events detected by the device are continuously sent to the servers, where they are processed and managed in real time.
- What benefits does the system offer?
A flagship goal of our platform is to minimize the costs incurred by our clients in various ways. Instant vehicle information translates to saving time and money spent on communication with drivers, trip reports help reduce so-called private rides, and Eco-driving allows for reduced fleet maintenance costs through driver education and monitoring. These are just some of the benefits offered by the system. More information can be found on the main page.
- How much does it cost to use the system?
Prices depend on several factors: device reporting frequency configuration, expected operational range, anticipated functionality, and contract duration. More information on this can be found in the Offer and Pricing section.
- What is the minimum contract duration?
The minimum contract duration is 12 months. In particular, in justified cases, we can reduce it to 6 months.
- What is the coverage in Europe?
The system covers the following countries: Austria, Azores, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Spain, Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Madeira, Malta, Martinique, Monaco, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Reunion, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Vatican, Hungary, United Kingdom, Italy, Canary Islands, Faroe Islands.
- What is the coverage in individual tariff areas?
The service can be provided in groups of countries, contractually named tariffs. The current tariffs are:
- ELP (Poland)
- ELE (Mainly EU countries)
- ELE+ (All European countries including Russia)
- ELME (Europe and Middle Eastern countries)
- ELS (Worldwide)A detailed map of countries in the EMTRACK tariffs is available at https://emtrack.eu/zasiegi/
- How reliable is the system?
The system is so reliable that we confidently provide device warranties for the entire contract duration. Our company prioritizes the quality of products and services.
- How to install the tracking device?
To do this, please use our Authorized Installation Points. During the telematics service agreement, the time and place for device installation are determined in the most convenient way for you.
- What is the size of the GPS tracking device?
Our smallest device is smaller than a matchbox and weighs 60 grams.
- How to start using the system?
The signed contract provides login details for the administrator account. Visit http://web.emtrack.eu and log in with the provided details. On the back of the agreement, there's also information on where to find the user manual, which explains how our system operates.
- How long do you have to wait for the GPS tracking devices' delivery?
You don't have to wait for the devices; the devices will await installation at the designated Authorized Installation Point. The installation date and location are determined by our representative when signing the contract.
- Is it necessary to install software for fleet tracking?
Our application is web-based and only requires the Google Chrome browser. However, if you want mobile access, you should install the free EMTRACK app from the AppStore for iOS or Google Play for Android.
- Can the service also work as an anti-theft system?
Indeed, this function is facilitated by the notification mechanism, which allows for the sending of SMS alerts when detecting events like vehicle movement outside permitted hours, attempts to jam the GPS or GSM signal, vehicle movement with the engine turned off, and several other events.
- Can the system be connected to the CAN bus and tachograph?
Yes. Some of our devices can be integrated with the CAN bus or J1708 and the tachograph. Furthermore, we offer accessories that allow integration with these buses without tampering with the vehicle's wiring, which does not void the vehicle manufacturer's warranty. This is the so-called non-contact technology based on analyzing the electromagnetic field generated by data transmitted in the wires.
- Can I become a distributor?
Indeed, we are continuously expanding our dealer network. To learn about the specifics of collaboration, don't hesitate to get in touch with our Sales Department.
- How do I order the service?
The fastest method is to contact our Representative using the form available in the "Offer and Price List" section. Our representative will get in touch with you within one business day to discuss the details needed to prepare an offer.
- In which browsers can I use the application?
The application works on all popular browsers, but it is optimized for Google Chrome.
- Are additional software programs required?
No. Only an internet browser and an internet connection are needed.
- Will the system assist me in case of vehicle theft?
Absolutely. The system displays both the current and historical position of the vehicle. In case of an emergency, our Technical Department can, at your request, provide access to vehicle information to law enforcement agencies.
- Can the GPS and GSM signal be jammed?
GPS and GSM signals are ordinary radio waves operating on specific frequencies. Just as any radio wave can be jammed, the GSM and GPS signals can be too. However, our devices are highly resistant to this and can extract essential information from a noisy signal. If the interference is intense (e.g., using specialized equipment), the device can detect it and inform the user upon restoring communication. The application, in turn, detects devices that have lost connectivity and can alert the user.
- Is installing a module in the car sufficient to operate the service?
Yes. Naturally, the module must be authorized in our system. Once this condition is met, you can use the application from the moment of installation.
- Which module should I order?
Each module is unique and has its specific advantages. After understanding your needs, our Representative will offer you several options to choose from.
- I don't know how to use the Online Application. What should I do?
For our users, a user manual is available, which can be accessed from the menu after logging into the application. If you encounter issues with logging in or the operation of the application, please get in touch with Technical Support.
- How does the system notify about boundary, speed, or vehicle startup violations?
When setting a protected area, the system sends it to the device, which monitors its position concerning that area. The device samples its location every second, and if it detects a boundary breach, it sends the appropriate event to the servers.
Monitoring speed works similarly - if the device detects movement faster than the user-defined speed, it sends a relevant message to the servers.
The situation is the same for vehicle startup.
Depending on notification settings, the servers generate a notification in the application, an e-mail message, or an SMS sent to the specified phone number.
- My car only operates within my city. Can I get a notification if it goes further?
Of course. To do this, define a protected area covering the city and activate notifications for leaving that area.
- How can I use the service on mobile devices like smartphones?
To do so, install the free EMTRACK app available in the AppStore for iOS devices or Google Play for Android phones. After launching, enter the same credentials as for the web application, and you can enjoy the full functionality of the mobile app.
- The system notifies me that the battery voltage has dropped. Is this serious?
It's most likely due to the battery discharging. A charged battery maintains a stable voltage of around 12V or 24V. A voltage drop of 10% indicates probable battery discharge. In this case, charge the battery. During this time, the device will operate normally - its battery lasts about 24 hours during regular operation while the vehicle is in motion, or even up to 4 days when the vehicle is stationary.
- When will the 2G network be shut down in Europe? What does this imply?
Operators worldwide are phasing out 2G and 3G networks to free up bandwidth for 4G and 5G technologies. In Europe, a complete shutdown of the 2G network is planned by the end of 2030. However, some countries have already announced earlier 2G shutdowns within their territories.
